Mark, 14, loves to play basketball, but he's had to spend a lot of time in the hospital instead of on the court because of his heart condition.

"I was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, which basically means I have half a heart,"said Mark."I can't play sports the same way as other kids, so I wished to have my owncourt in my backyard."

It has been nearly eight years since Mark's wish was granted and the effect has created a lasting impact on not just Mark, but so many others.

"My wish makes me happy because I know I always have a place where I can do something I love."

"One of the things I remember most was everyone who was there to support me," Mark reflects on the day his wish was granted.

"The neighborhood kids still come over every day to shoot baskets and I'm just waiting to get out of school so I can go out and play."

Mark's story is one example of how a single wish can transform lives, bring families closer together and strengthen communities.

"The whole experience was life-changing and really affected me," he continued. "It was probably the best day of my life."
